Chapter 3. The Main Window

3.1. Menus

3.1.1. The "Game" menu

Game->New (Ctrl-N)

This starts a new game according to the most recent preferences.

Game->Open (Ctrl-O)

This command opens the last saved KMotux game.

Game->Save (Ctrl-S)

This saves the current game in the configuration file. If there has already been a saved game then this will overwrite the previously saved game without asking for the user's consent.

Note

A game must be running to be saved.

Game->Quit (Ctrl-Q)

This closes the KMotux application.

3.1.2. The "View" menu

View->Dictionary

This menu item opens a dialog box whereby several dictionaries may be consulted.

Note

This menu item is disabled when a game is running.

View->TopTen

This menu item opens a dialog box whereby several highscores may be consulted.

Note

This menu item is disabled when a game is running.

View->Show Statusbar

When checked, this displays a small bar at the bottom of the window displaying informations. When unchecked, the statusbar is hidden.

3.1.3. The "Settings" menu

Settings->Preferences

This menu item opens a dialog box whereby several different settings may be adjusted.

3.1.4. The "Help" menu

Help->Contents (F1)

This invokes the KDE help system starting at the KMotux help pages (this document).

Help->What's This? (Shift-F1)

This changes the mouse cursor to a combination arrow and question mark. Clicking on items within KMotux with this arrow will explain the item's function.

Help->Report Bug

This displays the "KDE Report Bug" dialog box, in order to submit a bug report to the author.

Help->About KMotux

This displays version and author information.

Help->About KDE

This displays the KDE version and other basic information.
